Well, here is the first DIY project for JJ’s Playroom Makeover.
I wanted this wall to have something on it other than pictures. There was a weird window on the right side of this wall and made picture-placing odd. So, I came up with the idea of stenciling something on it instead. I didn’t want to go out and buy a custom decal and I remembered I had stenciled I could use + I already had acrylic paint, also.
I asked for JJ’s input on what she wanted the wall to say, counted the lines, and made spacing in between them as necessary. I measured the height between each line and placed my stencils on the wall how we liked them. I made a straight line with a leveler + pencil.
Then, I used a sharpie (i know, so professional, huh!) and I outlined each letter making sure it was even and spaced correctly.
For the spaces I used a spare letter/number and lined the next letter up right next to it.
Then I just painted inside the outline.
It took longer than I had anticipated, but we are all very happy with how it turned out!
The new playroom is almost finished. I can’t wait to show you guys the rest.
